Molasses Snaps / Crackle Cookies

Grandma used to make these out on the farm for us...
Great tasting memories!

Ingredients: 

¾ cup (175 mL) butter
1 cup (250 mL) sugar
¼ cup (60 mL) fancy molasses
1 egg
2 cups (500 mL) flour
2 tsp. (10 mL) baking soda
1 tsp. (5 mL) ground cinnamon
½ tsp. (2 mL) ground ginger
½ tsp. (2 mL) ground cloves

Method: 

Pre-heat oven to 375ºF (190ºC)
Melt butter and cool. Combine with sugar, molasses and egg.
Mix together the dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, and ground cloves.
Add the dry to the wet and mix.
Chill dough for about 20 minutes.
Scoop out dough and roll into balls then roll in sugar.
Place on a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes.
Cool on a rack.
