Savoury Stuffed Mushrooms

This is a fantastic appetiser for a romantic dinner party!

Ingredients: 

6 large fresh mushrooms
4½ tsp (22 mL) finely chopped green pepper
4½ tsp (22 mL) finely chopped onion
1 Tbsp (15 mL) butter
3/4 cup (175 mL) day-old bread cut into small cubes
Pinch salt
Pinch pepper
Pinch cayenne pepper

Method: 

Pre-heat oven to 350°F (180ºC)
Remove stems from mushrooms, set caps aside and finely chop the stems . In a
skillet, sauté stems, green pepper and onion in butter until tender.
Remove from the heat, and stir in the cayenne, bread, salt, and pepper.

Stuff mixture into mushroom caps.
Place on a baking tray and bake, uncovered for 15 minutes or until stuffing
is lightly browned.
