Just like grandma used to make! This is a coleslaw / cabbage salad recipe that uses vinegar instead of mayonaise. The Vinegar and Cream combo gives a sweet and sour flavour that just can't be beat.

Just like grandma used to make!
Ingredients:
  • 1½ pounds cabbage, shredded 1/8" thick
  • 2/3 cup (150 mL) granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup (75 mL) white vinegar
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) salt
  • 1 cup (250 mL) 35% cream
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Method:
Place sliced / shredded cabbage in a large bowl. Mix sugar, vinegar, and salt in a small bowl. Add to cabbage and toss to coat. Add cream and toss it again. Cover and refrigerate at least 30 minutes before serving. Season with salt and pepper; serve.
