Here we show you 3 homemade taco spice blends, these are great on beef, pork, lamb, and shrimp!

prep time: 10 minscook time: total time: 10 mins

ingredients:

  • 1 Tbsp (15 mL) salt

  • 1 Tbsp (15 mL) pepper

  • 1 Tbsp (15 mL) ground cumin

  • 1 Tbsp (15 mL) paprika

  • 1 Tbsp (15 mL) chili pepper

  • 1 tsp (5 mL) garlic powder

  • 1 tsp (5 mL) onion powder

  • 1 Tbsp (15 mL) Mexican oregano

  • 2 tsp (10 mL) cinnamon

Method:

  1. Put all of the ingredients in a jar and shake.

NOTES:

Variation #2
Swap out the paprika for smoked paprika.
Grind a smoked chile - of your choice - and add to the mix.

Variation #3
To either variation #1 or #2 add 1 Tbsp (15 mL) of cocoa powder.


**Tip: If you can’t find Mexican Oregano, use Marjoram, it has a flavour profile that’s closer than Mediterranean Oregano.
